How Oakdale School is helping parents through Coronavirus

As proud sponsors of our local junior school, we want to applaud the work and resources they give to parents during this tough time.

There are many people in our community who are finding this period of uncertainty and isolation hard. It’s been fantastic watching as locals band together to help those who are elderly or vulnerable. (We ourselves have a team which can help out, so please don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it!). Yet another group of people who may be going through difficulty are parents.

Many parents have been forced to turn into homeschoolers, while many are still trying to work full time at work themselves, or perhaps are key workers in the community. There’s also the added factor of worry for many, as although the virus affects children much less than adults, they may still catch it and be ill for some time. This is especially true for parents of vulnerable or special needs children.

This is why it’s been so fantastic to see all the resources given to parents by Oakdale School. Neil King has long sponsored Oakdale as we believe in the work they do and passion they have for the local children, so we want to applaud what we think is a fantastic job during a difficult time.

Head to their website to see a list of resources and help offered, including regular updates, government advice, special numbers to ring for help, and directions to online resources for homeschooling.

We want to say a special thank you to everyone in the community helping right now, it’s times like these that you realise what a community spirit there is locally!

For any help, advice, groceries, medication, or just a chat, please get in touch with us! We are here to lend a hand however we can.
