Could London be getting its own Disneyland?

2024 could be the year London gets its very own Disney style theme park, just a short train ride out of the city.

Get set for the biggest thing to happen to London since the Olympics. Children all over London (and likely adults too) are getting excited at the prospect of our very own Disneyland style themepark!

The park is reported to be just a 17 minute train journey away and is bound to not only raise London’s game in the bid to be the world’s best city, but also raise the value of homes and AirBnBs nearby.

It’s also estimated that the resort will create around 27,000 jobs in the area – great news for London’s economy, and could also “harness the potential of the River Thames, as new routes will be created to make it attractive for people to walk, cycle or bus to and around the site.”

There’s set to be themed rides, attractions, live shows and parades – all to entertain around 50,000 people a day. There’ll even be a theatre with West End quality shows, as well as hotels, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and an art-house style cinema.

It was originally in partnership with Paramount Pictures—the oldest major Hollywood studio in existence—but unfortunately, that fell through in 2017. Despite this, developers LRCH insist that the plans are still going ahead, just under a new name – ‘The London Resort’.

Although plans were announced a few years ago, with changes, delays, and red tape, many believed it was never going to come to fruition, yet they’re now reporting a 2024 opening- just 5 years from now.

While West London has had Chessington World of Adventure and Legoland nearby for a while now, we’re excited at the prospect that this new theme park will be to the East, closer than ever to home.
