Vibrant colour trends are predicted for our homes in 2023

Each year sees new interior design trends with new colour trends, patterns and styles, and there are big changes ahead in 2023 to our interior paint and colour schemes.

Each year sees new interior design trends with new colour trends, patterns and styles, and there are big changes ahead in 2023 to our interior paint and colour schemes. 2022 was all about sophisticated colour palettes featuring many green shades to imitate nature.

Viva Magenta from Pantone

Pantone has announced their colour of the year, which is named Viva Magenta 18-1750. It is a bold pinkish red that Pantone has described as "an unconventional shade for an unconventional time."
This vibrant colour is perfect as an accent to bring vibrancy to your life, and it is not for the faint-hearted.
The confident colour is "inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.
To use this colour in your home, consider accents within soft furnishings and cushions paired with soft neutral beiges on the walls. Gentle blues and greens will also match up well with Viva Magenta.

Patterns - stripes of all colours are in order for 2023.

2023 will see patterns, particularly stripes, in our wallpapers and fabrics. Stripes of all colour combinations, from very subtle to wildly colourful and contrasting, depending on how courageous you are with your home decor.

Be bold -

The simple white interiors with grey accents and chrome finishes of previous years are gone. This simple, calm style is forgotten in favour of bright, bold colour schemes. Vividly patterned wallpaper with birds, flowers and animals in bright colours. Geometric shapes and metallic finishes of gold, copper and bronze can be seen as accents too.

It would seem that we are becoming much more adventurous in our homes, embracing colour and patterns. Maybe you will decide to throw caution to the wind and add some colour and vibrancy to your home in 2023?
