Free ice cream putting a smile back on the faces of our students!

For Oakdale Junior School’s students, final school day just got a little bit cooler as Neil King donates a free ice cream van so they can celebrate the year’s accomplishments with a bit of normality.

Students at Oakdale Junior School got a happy surprise on their last day in primary school as a free ice cream van turned up to offer them a range of sweet treats.

With coronavirus causing havoc to many student’s final years, we felt like we should give back to our community with a little dollop of happiness, and so the idea of donating the van came about, putting a smile back on many of their faces.

We’ve been proud to partner with Oakdale Junior School in South Woodford for many years now, sponsoring events and teams, in an effort to offer something back to our wonderful community.

We know Oakdale is a wonderful local school which offers our children the best in education and teaching and during the Covid-19 crisis, the school has really stepped up to ensure nothing gets missed in our children’s education. As a community, we’re really grateful for all they’ve done!

We hope the free ice cream was able to offer them a little bit of normality and happiness in the chaos, as well as cool them down on the hot summer day they celebrated. We’ll continue to give back to our community in these tough times as much as possible – as a local independent business, we know the true importance of supporting each other.

Well done to all the students moving up to the next stage of their education - we’ll see you next year!
